Mommy, nass !

Skinny Jeans - Somewhere in Germany, Shoes - Zara, Button Up - Macy's, Vest - Target;

We are just beginning a new, exciting and.. dreadful chapter. Anybody familiar with the term potty training ? Yes, I don't like it ! The little guy does not like his diapers anymore. He uses every chance he can get to take it off and - shaking my head - hide it. Yes, I find diapers everywhere. I can't put him to bed without pants because he'll take of his diapers and wet his bed. Smart as he is - who wants to sleep in a wet bed ? - he wakes me up early in the morning, standing in his crib, throwing his beddings at me. "Mommy (pointing at the wet spot on his mattress) nass !" The joys of motherhood. I guess it really is time for proper potty training. He did use his potty last week. Once. But at least that shows that there is a spark of hope. Wish us luck !

The Weekend

Skinny Jeans - Old Navy, Faux Leather Jacket - H&M, Sneakers - Nike, Mickey Mouse Snapback - Swap Meet at Qualcomm Stadium; He's also wearing a Disney Shirt and Zipper underneath.

We were running around so much this weekend that it seems like it lasted forever. California offers so much to do. We went to Disneyland on Friday - yes, again ! - and to the San Diego Art Walk in Little Italy on Saturday. Our Sunday we spent at the San Diego Safari Park. Fun, fun, fun but I really needed sleep last night.

Ready to go

That wonderful one-piece is a GUESS piece. The jewelry is H&M and those silver, blue heeled shoes are ALDO.

I've been a huge fan of one-pieces lately. You'll probably see that in my upcoming outfit posts. Maybe because they are so simple to wear. You just slide in and the only thing you need to worry about is shoes and accessories. Ready to go !

How do you do that ?

Shirt - Oki Doki, Pants - Ebay, Sneakers - Nike;

I have great respect for those moms who blog about their kids personal style and always get those perfect and clean pictures. How the heck do you mommas do that ? First of all I have to take Liam's pictures as soon as we leave the house because he won't stay clean for more than 15 minutes. I shouldn't let him eat stuff that smears then ?! Ha ! He'll find something else to stain his outfit (Thank you - whoever is responsible - for RESOLVE !). So, the next thing is that my loved son can not stand still. So I have to use one still moment while he is playing to steal a shot. And I have to make him think he is the one that decided to take the picture. So I'll let him play and pretend to take pictures of something else until he wants to be in the picture. But this also means our pictures are very real. No good picture unless this little guy approves. The struggle of a mom with strong willed child. Ha !

Peace, Love;

Liam is wearing GAP denim shorts, H&M high tops and a A&G kids shirt. The sleeves used to be all black but a bleach accident "happened" and I decided to go all the way and make it look wanted.

Skin, skin, skin

Liam giving hugs and kisses to his little hand puppet owl from IKEA. He loves when the owl aka mommy talks to him.

Everyone with 2 functioning eyes can see that Liam does not look like he has any other race than Caucasian in him. I could hand him to a white couple and they could pull off a perfect family. I don't really see color. No I seriously don't. Not just with my son but with all the people around me. I guess the way I feel about skin color can be compared to the way others look at hair colors. Does that make sense ? But I still kind of thought about it this week and think it is absolutely logical that Liam looks.. well, the way he does. He is 75% German (Caucasian) and only 25% Ugandan (umm.. black). I mean.. duh !
Anyways.. I totally drifted off. I was trying to talk about the fact that I always forget to bring sunscreen. Just because nobody in my family ever needed it. I'm not even sure if Liam does. Ha ! He never even showed the slightest sign of a sun burn. He must have some black genes hidden somewhere. I should really remember the sunscreen though ! It's very important considering that for a child that age only one sun burn can raise the chances for skin cancer. For a baby under 12 month every sun burn has to be treated as an emergency. Even with mild symptoms it is recommended to call a doctor. For Children ages 1 and up call your pediatrician if your kid shows symptoms like blisters, a fever or severe pain. Further it is important to know that sun burns cause dehydration. Give your child plenty of fluids (water, pedialyte etc.). Try a light moisturizing lotion to sooth the skin and don't apply any alcohol since it may undercool the skin. It's important to keep the little ones out of the sun entirely until the sun burn has completely healed. With that said let the summer come. Enjoy and be safe mommas and babies !

Puesto

One piece - Forever21, Necklace - H&M, Shoes - Aldo, Ring - Ebay, Natural Hair - A gift from Mother Nature;

We - very spontaneously - decided to check out this new spot for lunch. Puesto at the Headquaters at Seaport Village. This place is not only beautiful and very artsy but the food is very enjoyable too. I enjoyed a Mango Limeanade and a combination of 3 different tacos. I wouldn't bet on a perfect service though. After I already had to ask 2 different servers for a high chair for Liam I still had to wait for ages. Plus our servers dropped off food for a other group of customers at our table. Twice. I would still recommend this place and definitely plan on coming back one night for tacos and white wine.

Old Town Square

Bavarian Baby Shirt - Munich Airport, Pants - The Childrens Place, Bear Sneakers - Adidas;

Playsuit - H&M, Sequin Vest - H&M, Sandals - Zara;

I really enjoy taking Liam to Old Town. It's basically the closest park to our place and it offers enough space for him to walk around and explore without me having to worry about cars or bikes. The only thing I have to worry about at the Old Town Square is that little fountain in front of the Casa de Reyes. For some reason he feels the urge to dive in there. Kids.. I usually let Liam play at the old Carriage by the Cosmopolitan Hotel and the little Canon right in the middle of the Town Square. He runs around on the grass and when we go before noon on a weekday he gets to see the short Shakespeare plays. We visit the little museums and get some candy at the candy store. If we ever come closer to the evening we really enjoy the Mexican artists and the food at the Casa de Reyes. Plenty to do !

My white T

White T-Shirt and Ring - H&M, Skirt - Asos, Shoes - Aldo, Flower Hairband - New Yorker (Germany)

Ha ! You barely ever see me wearing a simple white T-shirt but I actually do like this look a lot. Also I still can't believe I had the time and patience to do my nails. My plans usually get ruined by a kid that tries to.. I don't know.. dive off our couch and requires my hands to hold him while he is fake crying. Now let's just hope the color lasts for a while.

Mommy made

I was double teasing on my Instagram last night for.. well, this here. Ha ! It's a simple outfit post. Surprise ! We spent our Saturday afternoon at the Safari Park in Escondido. I haven't been there in a year and we didn't get to see all of it but I guess it didn't change a lot, huh !? We still had a blast with the uncle and "Oma" and it really reminded me how "boring" the San Diego Zoo is compared to the Safari Park. I should really start using my membership on BOTH parks and drive out there more often. Well, here is proof that we didn't go there naked.

I ordered this shirt on Ebay almost 2 years back. I think it came all the way from China. The shoes are obviously Nike and super comfortable. Thumbs up for that. The skirt is kinda like a hand me down. Well I still payed for it but it used to belong to a old friend.

Liam is wearing a The Children's Place shirt and Nike sandals. The pants are mommy made. Yes I made them.

Support the locals

Shades, Jewelry and Skirt - Forever 21, T-shirt - True Religion, Denim Shirt - H&M, Superman Sneakers - Converse;

I'm very lucky to have such talented people around me. So my brother - who is majoring in film - is nice enough to take my pictures for my blog. That's already great and I am very happy about his help. But now my dear friend Sean Marin gave me a little sample of his editing and I love it. Click on his name to find out more about his work. Comics

Today's outfit is all about comics. We are wearing the H&M Superman bow tie and Target Spider Man Slip On's. The Jeans are H&M as well and got this awesome wash after washing and drying it. The shirts brand is OshKosh B'gosh. I absolutely love that brick wall at the Fashion Valley Mall. Do you know where it is at ?

"Attoo"

Jewelry - Marvel, T-Shirt - Gucci, Pants and Sneakers - H&M;

Liam sure loves his tattoos. It's so sweet how he looks at Tattoos, checks the same spots on his arms and asks for a "attoo". And it's not as if he would be happy with just one. He want "more". I really hope he's gonna know his Tattoo limits when he's older. This just shows how important our behavior in front of our children is. We are the only idol they have which means we are the only people they learn from. They'll try to copy us, no matter how hard our words try to keep them from doing so. It's our action they'll copy !

Hipster Jr.

Short sleeve shirt - GAP, Skinny Jeans - Old Navy, Sneakers - Nike;

I was trying to get a good picture of his outfit at the playground but this little boy had different plans. I promise he was having a good time but as soon as I pulled out the camera and asked him for a picture he decided that a nap would be a good idea. His little face...
