Happy Easter !

As parents we are not only responsible to raise our kids but also have to make sure they get the childhood they deserve. I'm not talking about all those fancy toys (yes I know we all spoil them). I'm talking about letting them believe in all those things kids should believe in. The Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause and yes, also the Easter Bunny.
I did a lot of thinking this year. What to fill the basket with ? Do I use last year's basket ? And I also thought about the future. Is he gonna start asking question if he see's the same basket year for year ? How would I explain that ? Well, I guess I'd make up some sort of recycling story. Ha !
So for this year's easter celebrations I got him a new basket. And I didn't just get him a new basket, I customized it for him. E voila and "surprise" it's a Mickey Mouse easter basket. I filled it with Spider Man.. umm.. Sandals I guess, Jake and the Neverland pirates bubbles and some candy. He really enjoyed the hunt (mommy showing him where she hid the basket) and our day at Disneyland.

Oh and I was very surprised that Disneyland wasn't as crowded as I expected it to be. You could walk very comfortably and the lines weren't to long. We could even go on a couple of rides we usually avoid due to long waiting times. Anyways...

DIY distressed Mickey Mouse shorts

Happy Saturday everybody. Once again nap time for Liam turned into crafting time for mommy. I got him some $4.49 denim shorts at JC Penney and now see what I did to them. Do you love them or nah ?

1. You will need: A pair of denim shorts/pants, textile scissors, tweezers and that little cutter thing you see on my picture. It came with my Ikea sewing machine.

2. Take your shorts/pants and decide on a area you want to distress. Use your textile scissors to cut 3 holes. TRY not to cut the white threads.

3. Pull out the blue threads in the areas between your cuts.

4. Looking at this picture, do you know what I mean by loosening up the top and bottom of your hole ? Yes ? That's what you do next.

5. Next I printed out Mickey Mouse's head shape and cut out a sponge to match it. Soak that Mickey sponge in Clorox and place on a area of your choice.

6. And all done ! This is how Liam's turned out. I'm probably still going to work on the edges a little but you'll see it in a outfit soon enough. What do you think ?

Urban Jungle

Because wearing a checked shirt around your waist gets so boring. Jewelry - Ebay, Dress - All Saints,  Leo Shirt - H&M, Sandals - Zara, Bracelet - Cotton On ($2 donated to Uganda for water supply)

Despicable Two

If you don't have kids you have never been seriously tired. I've been planing this birthday party forever and made sure I had enough time to do bit by bit until the big day arrives. Well at least that's what I thought. I guess you can't avoid those stressful last days before a DIY kids birthday party. So you have mommy duty during the day and those sacred nap and night times suddenly turn into crafting time. Cupcake toppers, water bottle labels, twinkie wrappers and paper Minions. I did it all. Except for sleeping. The party looked fantastic and was a full success but I really had to catch up on some sleep afterwards. Well, I'm officially a mom of a two year old now.

SD Zoo

So now, since this first blog entry topic is off the table I can finally post our first outfits (Yaaay !).

I feel that, living in San Diego, it is really easy to spend time outside the house. Sure the weather is perfect almost all 365 days of the year but It is not just that. This city offers so much fun that you almost feel guilty staying in. We went to the San Diego Zoo this morning and Liam, as always, really enjoyed it. We are members of the Zoo and Safari park so we go very frequently and I must say it is really worth the money. It basically pays after your second visit. It is so much fun and very educational for your little ones. Liam is learning the names and sounds his favorite animals make and even already knows which way to go to see them.
My outfit today was all about comfort. It is warm out there and the Zoo means lots of walking. I love those shoes. The best mommy shoe ever !

I'm loving this comfy Zoo outfit ! Jewelry - H&M, Top - All Saints, Shorts - Zara, Sneakers - Nike, Purse - Aldo;

Liam is wearing a Guess outfit he got as a gift for his second birthday this past Saturday. Hat - H&M, Shoes - Zara

The first entry on a blog is a very difficult thing. Well, for me at least. Let me tell you why: you can't really start with something like a simple #ootd post. That would look kind of lost. Like a story without a beginning. But what do you talk about and most importantly to who ? Since it is a new blog I'm almost sure I don't have a lot of readers.. yet. We'll still have to work on that.
Well, I can tell you this much. Expect outfits of both me and my little prince, DIY projects, some beauty here and some parenting there. Eye candy, events, travels and probably lots of Disneyland. I might throw in some cooking and random thoughts. Come back for more and check out the About section to find out more about me/us !
